DAILY CARE
- Switch on the charger
- When the indicator on the charger signifies that charge is complete, switch off the charger
- Unplug the battery from the charger and reconnect it to the truck
- Notify the service Engineer immediately if the battery appears excessively hot or is using more water than usual, or if the battery charger failed to switch off.
- Don't overcharge or overdischarge the batteries.
- Keep the battery clean, dry and free from corrosion.
- Keep all the connections and bolted terminals tight adn covered with a film of petroleum jelly
WEEKLY CARE
- Do not overfill
- Do not add acid.
- Check the electrolyte levels. If the level is below the top of the plates or the visible components inside the cells, then add distilled, de-ionised or approved water as specified by the manufacturer to just cover the plates/components.
- After topping-up clean away any spillage.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Do not smoke or expose a naked flame near a battery | Care must be taken when lifting to ensure that the electrolyte is not spilled and that the cells are not physically damaged or the connection short-circuited

Areas where batteries are kept or charged must be adequately ventilated | (i) Use only insulated tools
|
If acid is split on skin, or clothing, wash with plenty of clean water. |
(ii)Remove all rings, watches, bracelets or any other metal personal effects.
|
If acid comes into contact with the eyes, wash with plenty of clean water and get immediate medical attention. | Always protectice clothing and goggles.
|
Leave the vent plugs in position and closed except when topping-up. |
